After twenty years working in policy, politics, and public affairs for a range of charities and organisations, Mairi retrained as an illustrator at Leith School of Art.
Her background gives her a unique understanding of how crucial clear, engaging communication is—whether you're speaking to the public, stakeholders, or decision-makers. From annual reports and signposting materials to research with a strong policy focus, she creates illustrations that bring complex messages to life.
Having worked within busy communications teams, Mairi knows the pressure of limited budgets and tight deadlines. That’s why she offers a flexible illustration subscription service—helping organisations gradually build a bespoke image library tailored to their needs, timelines, and strategy.
Children (and adults) narrative illustration
Mairi has an MA Creative Writing. Her poetry book This is a Poem, was published by Burning Eye Press and she was the Writer in Residence at Fearless Femme. She was longlisted for the Crime Writers Association Debut Dagger and was a finalist in the Capital Crime and Amazon New Voices Award. Her novel Self Help for Serial Killers: Let Your Creativity Bloom, is availible in e-book.
She is currently working on picture books for children and adults.
